當代潮流玩具的Icon ：Quiccs
1982年出生的菲律賓籍藝術家「Quiccs」，本名 Juanito Maiquez ，是近年來東南亞最具代表性的頂尖創作人之一。自學成才的他，年少時就展現過人的繪圖天賦，不僅是視覺設計競賽的常勝軍，更在取得商學學位後，成立了圖像設計公司。將自己對日系動漫畫、特攝影集、美系卡通與超級英雄電影的耳濡目染，轉化成饒富時尚魅力與街頭趣味的獨特創作風格。
原創角色玩具 (Designer Toy) 對於 Quiccs 而言，彷彿命中註定般的存在。父親在五歲時送給他的第一尊 G.I.Joe 人偶-Shipwreck，開啟了他日後對玩具收藏近乎癡迷的熱情與嚮往。透過網路與社群資源，Quiccs如海綿一般持續汲取來自 Huck Gee、 123Klan、KAWS...等全球知名當代藝術家的精華養分，廣納各家所長。其中又以香港藝術家 Michael Lau 的作品對其影響最為深遠。受到 Michael Lau 將自身生活經驗與文化元素融入玩具設計上的啟發，Quiccs 在而立之年推出第一款 (同時也是目前最廣為人知的）原創角色玩具「TEQ63」。
「TEQ」是 Technique 的縮寫發音，「63」則是菲律賓的國籍代碼，Quiccs 以玩具的形式巧妙融合了對於日式機甲、Hip-pop 街頭文化與塗鴉藝術的喜好，同時也反映出藝術家富含地域性自我認同的獨特表述。儘管當時菲律賓的玩具收藏圈尚未如同今日般熱衷此道，但 TEQ63 一推出就受到在地藝廊 Secret Fresh 以及特眾粉絲們的青睞，並迅速培養出具有高忠誠度的支持群。同時，受邀跨海至泰國參展，以及連續兩年獲選紐約知名原創玩具大賞 Clutter Magazine 年度優勝的資歷，也讓 Quiccs 在百家爭鳴的歐美收藏市場中，獲得高度關注與廣泛好評。
2019年，享負盛名的 Quiccs 應國際知名運動品牌 Adidas 邀請，正式成為代言合作藝術家，除了推出限定聯名款玩具外，他同時也負責操刀潮流與運動系列商品的形象視覺。作為體現潮流與街頭文化的符號象徵， Adidas 旗下經典的 Superstar 系列早在 TEQ63 面市之初，便是角色著用的定番鞋款。TEQ63 不僅實現了藝術家創作玩具的夢想，角色與生俱來的品牌思維基因，更提供了將其拓展至流行服飾、衍生性週邊以及跨界聯名企劃...等商業層面擴散的可能性。
