“Haven’t I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be dismayed, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go.”” (Joshua 1:9 WEB)
Yahweh told Joshua not to be afraid nor be dismayed.
Afraid is fear of the future, while dismayed is disappointment about the past.
God wants us to be strong and courageous in the current moment and live in the present.
God is with you in the present where you are.
Every day you receive Grace to deal with the matters of “today”.
The fresh Grace is not found in your past which is already over, and it is not yet in your future, so it is futile to be afraid or dismayed.
The devil wants you to be paralyzed by the chains of fear and disappointment so that you will be imprisoned, posing no threat to him.
The same Yahweh God who encouraged Joshua said this as a Man:
“Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient.” (Matthew 6:34 WEB)
Our Lord Jesus wants us to face the present day with Him, without being burdened by the past or future.
“teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” (Matthew 28:20 WEB)
Just as He was with Joshua, He promises to always be with you, even until the end of the age.
“Not that I have already obtained, or am already made perfect; but I press on, if it is so that I may take hold of that for which also I was taken hold of by Christ Jesus. Brothers, I don’t regard myself as yet having taken hold, but one thing I do. Forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:12-14 WEB)
Knowing that Jesus is always with you through His Spirit, you can press on each day, knowing that He’s holding on to you.
Forget the things (mistakes you’ve made and past achievements) which are behind—each day is a fresh start to walk in your high calling which has a prize.
Whatever you do, keep walking forward. God’s word is a lamp to your feet and a light for your path!
You may not be able to see the entire journey, but you can take one step at a time. Remember, live in the present and use the fresh grace that’s available for “today”!

The Kind of Preaching that Makes Strong Christians
“He came to a cave there, and camped there; and behold, Yahweh’s word came to him, and he said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” He said, “I have been very jealous for Yahweh, the God of Armies; for the children of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword. I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.” He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before Yahweh.” Behold, Yahweh passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains, and broke in pieces the rocks before Yahweh; but Yahweh was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake; but Yahweh was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake a fire passed; but Yahweh was not in the fire. After the fire, there was a still small voice. When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle, went out, and stood in the entrance of the cave. Behold, a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”” (1 Kings 19:9-13 WEB)
After a great victory over the prophets of Baal at Mount Carmel, Elijah fled for his life from Jezebel who vowed to kill him.
Elijah was very confused as to why his victory was short-lived, and how come a wicked one like Jezebel was allowed to live. He thought that everyone had forsaken the God of Israel, and that he was the only devout one left.
Through powerful demonstrations of a strong wind, an earthquake, and a fire, Yahweh showed Elijah that He was not in any of them.
But when Yahweh spoke with a still small voice, that was what made Elijah go out of the cave.
Elijah was paralyzed by fear when God used dramatic demonstrations of His power, but it was the still small voice that gave Elijah the comfort and assurance to move out of the darkness of the cave.
People don’t repent because of God’s judgments—they repent from the comforting convictions of the Holy Spirit.
Some preachers who don’t understand God’s heart today still proclaim that God is judging nations with natural disasters and destruction. God doesn’t do that, and it’s not even effective at getting people to repent anyway.
You can read the Book of Revelation and see that the world will still blaspheme God even after all the plagues are poured out upon them during the Great Tribulation in the future. Judgment doesn’t change a person’s heart. If they hated God before, they will still hate Him after being punished.
When one preaches that God judges people today when they sin, people are paralyzed, and they can’t even make any progress. They become so afraid to do anything because they’re so focused on avoiding God’s punishment.
However, what God is doing is convicting hearts through the Holy Spirit when the Gospel of Jesus Christ is preached. It is the message of God’s goodness that has the power to make people willingly offer their lives to Jesus.
It is the freedom of the Gospel that allows people to have a secure environment to grow in and to exercise their faith. The unchanging love of God gives believers the confidence to make decisions, even if they end up failing. They know that God still loves them and that there is grace and mercy to pick them up when they fall.
If you want to make progress in your walk with Christ, you have to receive messages about God’s love and grace—not those false teachings that God judges people and nations by sending natural disasters, sicknesses and destruction today.
“Not only this, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope: and hope doesn’t disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” (Romans 5:3-5 WEB)
When you are established in God’s love which has been poured out into your heart through the Holy Spirit, you will even be able to rejoice in sufferings and receive the full developmental benefits of overcoming sufferings. It makes you a Christian who is strong in the Lord, not one who cowers and crumbles in hardships. God’s love makes you strong, so focus on receiving more of it!

My quarantine journal 💭
Week 1 of MCO:
Dealt with shock then denial as to how long this would last. Lots of anxiety from the news. Felt confused with disparity of content on social media. One scroll, death & despair. Next scroll, silly Tik Tok vid. A lot irked me. Period came. Tried to cope by making lists but due to emotional (PMS?) burdens, had zero productivity & lotsa negative thoughts floated in my head; mainly how all progress made in my career—due to Covid—has rendered me paralyzed (metaphorically). Then I’d see more devastating news re: Covid. I snap out of it & remind myself there are worser things. Thank God for WhatsApp/Zoom etc which helped fill my void of hopelessness. Knowing I wasn’t alone helped.
Week 2 of MCO:
You don’t know you’re in a dark place til you’re out in the light. This week was my turning point. I’m smarter now at sifting through news so I no longer let it get to me; just read & watched enough to stay informed. Started doing house chores; that felt purposeful. Exercising & sharing my workouts inspired me to find creative ways to endorphin up myself & maybe motivate others too. Played piano more than I ever had in a long time & even learnt 3 new songs as per requests! Cooked pretty much all my meals & altho kitchen is in mid renos & could only churn simple veggie cooking vids (one-handed chef) still tried me best to make a lotta yous hungry 😇 Tik Tok vids are less annoying now, even made some meself lol. Did research on how to help our wounded world & found affinity with @autruiglibal (link in bio if you’d like to donate too). FINALLY looked at my to-do list!
Week 3 of MCO.. or isit RMO?
Began organizing my closet & I have SO much clothes am at day 3 of sorting which to donate/keep (gave me SO much joy—Marie Kondo knew what-sup) Filed my taxes; another thing checked off my list #hurrah Still got more to go but happy bout my progress & where my emo state is at. Sure there’s doubt, fear of the unknown, bad habits to kick off (eg: sleeping at 5am) but there’s also a lot of appreciation for so many things esp friends & fam who’ve given me so much emo support whether they know it or not.
More to say but think caption space gon run ou

LYRICS:
I still remember the way that you'd smile
When you'd feel the ocean breeze
And when you were mine.
We were talking crazy
Like forever was here.
Not a worry in the world
With nothing to fear.
But now things are awkward
Like "Hey, how you'd been?"
When I used to hold you
Like it'd never end
All of a sudden
突然間
We're not even friends
And I'm tired
Tell me how did we get here
Tell me how did we get here
Paralyzed by the fear
Tell me how did we get here
And how do we rewind
Can we go back to
The day by the sea
I'm not ready to call that a memory
There's a tension in the air
I know you can see
Every second passing
Is slowly killing me
But now things are awkward
Like "Hey, how you'd been?"
When I used to hold you
Like it'd never end
All of the sudden
突然間
We're not even friends
And I'm tired
Tell me how did we get here
Tell me how did we get here
Paralyzed by the fear
Tell me how did we get here
And how do we rewind
I'm pretending like I'm not losing my mind
Everytime you come into my life
I need to have you next to by my side
For all time
Tell me how did we get here
Tell me how did we get here
Paralyzed by the fear
Tell me how did we get here
And how do we rewind.
