又到了穿背心、短褲的季節,多餘的脂肪立即無所遁形,心目中立即出現兩個字:減肥!從中醫角度來看,減肥宜先了解體質,例如究竟自己是屬於實胖(肉質結實、食慾大、易肚餓)還是虛胖(肌肉鬆軟、食慾差、手腳冰冷腫脹),積極調理體質之餘,多進食山楂、荷葉,都有消脂減肥的功效。新鮮的山楂外形像迷你蘋果,可以當水果吃或沖水飲用。新鮮荷葉可直接用來煮湯或煲粥,每逢夏天街市都會找到;山楂及荷葉乾品則較常見,藥材舖及乾貨店買到。
如果肥胖身形多來自水腫,就應先健脾袪濕。如果水腫較明顯,粟米鬚、冬瓜都是能清熱利尿的食材,有助減肥,怕涼就可以加一片薑減低寒性。冬瓜超過九成為水份,尤其適合炎夏時食用,有助清熱袪暑及補充水份。粟米鬚可直接到街市購買新鮮的煲水飲用。
山楂 — 性微溫,有消食健胃、行氣散瘀的功效,可治消化不良、臉上色斑、暗瘡印等,更可降血脂和消脂。惟體弱氣虛及糖尿病者不宜多吃。
荷葉 -性平,能消暑、清頭目、降脂減肥,適合夏日中暑、頭昏腦脹、暑熱腹瀉、大便出血、流鼻血、高血脂等,惟體質瘦弱、氣血虛弱者不宜。
粟米鬚 - 性平,能清熱利尿,降血糖。適合高血壓病人、水腫、尿道炎及糖尿病人服用。
冬瓜 — 性涼,具有清熱祛暑、利水消痰、減肥的功效,適合浮腫、肥胖、暑熱煩悶者飲用。脾腎虛弱易有腹瀉者、陽虛體質不宜。

Fat burning ingredients at-a-glance
In the season of wearing sleeveless shirt and shorts, you cannot hide any excess fat. You may think about losing weight. From the perspective of Chinese medicine, you should understand your body condition first. For example, you should figure out if you truly have obesity (strong and dense muscle, with a large appetite and always hungry) or have asthenic weight gain (loose muscles, poor appetite, cold and bloated limbs). Besides conditioning the body, eating more Chinese hawthorn and lotus leaf can also improve fat burn. The fresh Chinese hawthorn looks like a mini apple and can be eaten as fruit or can be brewed with water. Fresh lotus leaf can be used directly to cook soup or congee, and they will be found every summer in the market. Dried Chinese hawthorn and dried lotus leaf are more common, and they are available in Chinese medicine shops and dried goods stores.
If you suffer from edema, you should strengthen the spleen to dispel dampness first. If the edema is obvious, corn silk and winter melon are ingredients that can clear the heat and promote diuresis, which helps to lose weight. You can add a piece of ginger to counter the cold nature. Over 90% of winter melon are made up of water, making them especially suitable for consumption during the hot summer, helping to clear summer heat and replenish moisture. Fresh corn silk can be bought in the market and boiled with water.
Chinese Hawthorn- mildly warm in nature, can aid digestion and strengthen the stomach, promote qi circulation to remove bruising. Helps to aid digestion, facial freckles and spot, pimple marks and so on. It can also lower blood lipids and improve fat burn. Those with weak body, qi deficiency and diabetes should eat less.
Lotus leaf- mild in nature, can clear summer heat, improves vision and dizziness and burns fat. Suitable for summer heat stroke, dizziness, summer heat diarrhea, stool bleeding, nosebleeds, high cholesterol, etc., but not suitable for those with weak body and qi and blood deficiency.
Corn silk - mild in nature, clears heat and promotes diuresis, lower the blood sugar. Suitable for those with high blood pressure, edema, urethritis and diabetes.
Winter melon – cool in nature, clears summer heat, promotes diuresis, clears phlegm and burns fat. Suitable for those with bloating, fat, summer heat and irritability. Not suitable for those with asthenic spleen and kidneys, prone to diarrhea, or yang deficiency body condition.

Oliver came out at 3.5kg, minus-ing all the water weight, the first time i stepped on the weighing scale post-partum i was 74kg. 1.5 month later, today i am 66kg. My goal weight is still 12kg away.
The point here is not just numbers. It's knowing how to make yourself happy. You can be big and happy, you can also be small and still be unhappy. Vice versa. So just be whatever weight makes you happy. Don't impose your idea of self-love on other people. Everyone has their way of being happy, and that is okay as long as they don't hurt anyone nor themselves ❤️
Okay so how do i do it? I really just go back to daily grind like showering the kids, working and do you see the nasal spray and soft paper stem cotton buds? It's to pick boogers out of Amelia and Oliver 😂 Do you know how much energy it takes to pick booger out of kids? They fight you, not knowing the immense joy of ohrpisai 😌
And it helps that we have to climb stairs in the house 😄 Josh takes the night shift and have since lost 5kg 😂
Having kids and having a newborn is the best way to lose weight 😂
I still have 12kg more to go and i will update if i ever get there 😂

喝米水可以減肥/增肥嗎?
有正在減肥的人聞澱粉質而色變,問我們:「多喝米水會肥嗎?」喝米水的功效在於養好脾胃,如果脾胃虛弱,消化及運化能力失常,難以推動體內水液,代謝循環不暢,身體無法把體內多餘水份排出體外,水濕停於體內,聚成痰濕,形成水腫、痰等症狀,反而會令身體變得肥腫。
脾胃虛弱亦會形成另一種身型極端——食極唔肥,因為脾胃受損等於消化系統失常,儘管有多貴多營養的食物補品,身體都不能正常吸收,出現稍吃油膩或多吃後便會腹瀉、大便次數增加等脾胃症狀。
養好脾胃,使消化吸收及轉化功能正常運作,身體才能攝取飲食中的營養,然後才能靠運動、調節飲食去控制體重及身型,所以喝米水是調理身體功效的飲品,不會直接減肥或增肥,唯有養好脾胃後,減肥或增肥會事半功倍。

Due to the weakened digestive system, no matter what nutritious foods you consume, you body cannot properly absorb the necessary nutrients. You may be prone to diarrhea just be eating some slightly oilier things or overeating by a bit.
Keeping a healthy spleen and diet helps the body absorb, convert and transport allowing the body to absorb proper nutrients. You can then rely on exercising and diet control to manage your body weight and shape. Rice water is a way to strengthen your overall health, and not for gaining or losing weight. Your objective to gain or lose weight would be easier when you have a healthy spleen and stomach.

休まらないのできついですが達成感があります!
私が運動する原動力は、
美味しいものをたくさん食べたいという気持ちです。
食べるときに罪悪感感じたくない。
幸せ!って思いながら食べたい。
「あーなんで食べちゃうんだろう」って思いながら食べるのはきっと辛いです。
年齢を重ねると筋肉量がやせ細って代謝も落ちて、今まで通り食べてたら消費できずにどんどん太っていきます。
「今まではこれで痩せてた」っていう方法も全く効かない。
だから私は代謝を若者に近づけるために筋トレ始めたんです。
食べてしまっても、運動してたら
「食べてしまったけど運動して調節しよう!」
「昨日いっぱい筋トレしたから食べて筋肉を育てるんだ!」
って運動が逃げ道になります。
何もなかったら、食べた自分をただ責めるだけになってしまいます。
思い通りにならない、すぐに結果が出ないのはダイエットだけじゃないです。
ダイエットも仕事も、朝起きたら急に思い通りになっていました。
ってことはほとんどないです。
なんでも停滞期ってあると思います。
「頑張るぞ!」ってモチベーションもない時は
とりあえず、「やめない」「続ける」
淡々と続ける。
そしたら絶対に打破するときがあります。
停滞してしんどい時は、頑張らなくていいので今までしていたことを淡々と続けてみてください。
そしたら、「期間」はどんどん蓄積されていきます。
「〇ヵ月続けた」という期間も、立派な実績です。
「〇ヵ月続けたらやめる」「○年続けたらやめる」
でもいいと思います。
体重は思い通りにならなくても、期間を目標にしたら自分次第で達成できます(*^_^*)
美味しいものを幸せな気持ちで食べるために引き続き頑張ります(*^_^*)

Tofu Sushi (Healthy Guilt-Free Sushi Idea Recipe)
Difficulty: Very Easy
Time: 10min
Ingredients:
firm Tofu *won't break easily but any Tofu you like is OK
Sashimi or any Sushi toppings of your choice
soy sauce
Wasabi *if you like
Directions:
1. Drain well, wipe off excess water, and cut Tofu into bite-size pieces. If you have time, drain Tofu, wrap with paper towels, then place a heavy plate on top, and leave for 30 minutes to press out the water.
2. Slice Sashimi if it is too thick. Then put on top of Tofu.
3. Serve with soy sauce and Wasabi just like you eat Sushi!

In this video, we're going to learn how to calculate your food portion and macronutrients. Why is it important? Consuming the right balance of macronutrients can significantly IMPACT your results, whether it’s fat loss, muscle gain or weight maintenance. I believe that we should learn to count our macros to increase our awareness on the quality and amount of food we are consuming.
So grab a calculator as well as a pen and paper because together, we are going to figure out how many calories you need in a day as well as your macronutrients breakdown. Do PAUSE the video when you need to make sure you are following through.

Resting Energy Expenditure (REE) formulas for both Men & Women:
MEN: calories/day = [10 x weight (kg)] + [6.25 x height (cm)] – [5 x age (y)] + 5
WOMEN: calories/day = [10 x weight (kg)] + [6.25 x height (cm)] – [5 x age (y)] – 161
Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE)
TDEE = REE x activity level
Activity Level:
• Sedentary: x 1.2 (limited exercise)
• Lightly active: x 1.375 (Less than 3 days a week)
• Moderately active: x 1.55 (3 - 5 days a week)
• Very active: x 1.725 (hard exercise every day)
