2013年台北捷運信義線象山站開通後，所有人與象山的距離自此更近了，出站步行小段即能抵達健行步道口，山腳下一間飮料礦泉水小攤定時開張，正好也成了過路山友們的水份補給站。

400公尺處的六巨石我想是大多數台北人上山的目的地，雖地圖解說牌上標示約15分鐘抵達，但我認為是按平時有運動習慣的人給的參數，不過就算極度缺乏運動，其實沿著步道緩緩而上應該也不出30分鐘，想想，只有海拔181公尺的象山眞是一座極度友善城市人的山啊！

總是習慣在接近傍晚出發，就能一次拾獲台北白晝與向晚的點滴況味。攀 上巨石等著天色由蔚藍漸層至落日薄霧籠罩只餘光影，從未見過如此美的台北，也是在山底下無緣見著的風光。

巨石區有一條通往市立聯合醫院松德院區的小徑，稍往下走就少了枝葉遮避，此面一望無際台式高矮樓房不禁回憶，以前總覺得台北景致比不上異國，然而日子久了才明白，我們只是時刻身處於其中而不知，台北一直都是這般迷人。

Since the completion of the Taipei Metro Xinyi red line in 2013, the popular hiking trail up Elephant Mountain has become even easier to get to. The start of the trail is only a short walk from the exit of the Xiangshan metro station. At the base of the mountain, is a stall that is ran by a friendly old lady, stocking a variety of items that are useful for the hike. Frequent hikers up Elephant Mountain will tell you about their friendship with her.

The 400m checkpoint called the Six Giant Rocks, is the goal for most hikers. Despite many maps suggesting that it takes 15 minutes to reach this point, beginners should probably be prepared for a longer hike. However, even at a slower pace, most people should be able to reach it within 30 minutes. With an elevation of only 181 metres, Elephant Mountain is a highly approachable hiking trail suitable for urbanites.

We prefer visiting the mountain in the early evening hours, for a lovely view of the Taipei basin under both day and night light. Sitting on the giant rocks on the mountain, you’ll witness the beautiful transition of the blue sky gradually turning to an autumnal orange.

At the Six Giant Rocks, there’s also a small path that leads towards the Taipei City Psychiatric Center. This small trail is discrete and not many people know of it - but for those that know, it affords a much clearer view of the Taipei skyline. Like most people, we used to value trips abroad more than local trips, but it’s only when you explore more of Taipei, that you realise how beautiful the city is.

1915年（大正4年）4月1日に東上鉄道の新河岸 - 川越町間に川越西町駅（かわごえにしまちえき）として開業。
1920年（大正9年）7月27日に東上鉄道が東武鉄道に合併し、東武鉄道東上本線の駅となる。
1940年（昭和15年）7月22日に国有鉄道川越線川越駅が開業。同時期に東武鉄道は川越駅に改称。
1989年（平成元年）3月に橋上駅舎の供用開始。東武鉄道とJR東日本の改札が分離。JR東日本の駅も自社管轄に変更。橋上駅舎完成前まではJR東日本（旧国鉄）の駅業務も東武鉄道が委託を受けており、両社間の中間改札は設置されていなかった。
2007年（平成19年）
3月18日に東武鉄道でICカード「PASMO」の利用が可能となる[報道 2]。
9月20日に東武鉄道側の駅ナカ商業施設「ファイン川越」が「エキア川越」としてリニューアルオープン。
2008年（平成20年）3月18日に東武東上線ホームで発車メロディを導入。
2018年（平成30年）3月17日に東武東上線ホームにてホームドアの使用を開始。
相対式ホーム2面2線を有する地上駅。
2018年3月17日から、和光市駅に次いで可動式ホーム柵（ホームドア）の使用を開始した。
東上線では通常、駅のホーム番号は下り方から番線表示を付番するが、当駅は川越線のホームとの関係上、上り方が1番線となっている。
2019年度の1日平均乗降人員は124,534人で、東上線の駅では池袋駅、和光市駅、朝霞台駅に次ぐ第4位
川越駅東口駅前広場改修事業の工事期間は、令和3年5月下旬までを予定。

It opened on April 1, 1915.
The current JR station opened on July 22, 1940.
In March 1989, the Hashigami station building started operation. Tobu Railway and JR East ticket gates are separated. Until the completion of the Hashikami station building, Tobu Railway was entrusted with the station services of JR East.
The average number of passengers boarding/alighting each day in FY2019 is 124,534, and it is the fourth largest station on the Tojo Line after Ikebukuro Station, Wakoshi Station, and Asakadai Station.
The construction period for the Kawagoe Station east exit station square renovation project is scheduled until late May, 2019.

1988年（昭和63年）12月1日に開業。
1999年（平成11年）に関東の駅百選に選定。
2001年（平成13年）7月23日に駅舎改築工事竣工により北口が開業。
「まいはま」の名称は、アメリカ合衆国フロリダ州マイアミビーチ市に因んでいる。「舞」（まい）は「マイアミ」の「マイ」、「浜」（はま）は「ビーチ (beach)」の和訳「砂浜、浜辺」（すなはま、はまべ）に由来する。
2018年度の1日平均乗車人員は83,157人。
JR東日本の千葉県内の駅では松戸駅（約100,000人）に次ぐ第7位、京葉線内では東京駅、西船橋駅に次ぐ第3位である（JR東日本全体では水道橋駅に次いで第55位）。

Opened December 1, 1988.
Selected as one of the top 100 stations in Kanto in 1999.
The north exit was opened on July 23, 2001 due to the completion of renovation of the station building.
The average number of passengers per day in FY2018 was 83,157, ranking seventh after Matsudo Station (approximately 100,000) in JR East's Chiba Prefecture.
